Queen has recently attempted to record with Adam Lambert in hopes of creating a new album. They hadn’t released anything since 1995’s “Made In Heaven” that followed four years after Freddie passed away. They have, however, put out last year’s “You Are The Champions.” The song was ultimately a remastered version of “We Are the Champions,” dedicated to worldwide health care workers who have worked endlessly to treat every patient with COVID. While working with Adam Lambert on new work, they ended up forgetting about it (I’m quite good at doing that, forgetting.)
“We did record a song which we haven’t actually finished. I can’t remember what it’s called. I think we were still discussing what we should call it,” said Taylor.
May additionally explained, “It was a song that we’d tried to adapt that had come from a friend. It had the makings of being a great song, but we couldn’t crack it. We couldn’t get there.”
However, Taylor has given off the feeling that they won’t be giving up on pushing out new work. As they are one of the offical bands that got me into rock, I feel like screaming. It’s an all around fangirl moment. Dangerous. Feels quite weird actually.
“It would be nice to do some stuff. I wouldn’t rule it out,” said Taylor about a full length. “Adam has said, ‘Any time you want me to sing on something…’ If the other two decide, ‘Let’s do something,’ I’d be there.”
