Artemis Drops Single SEEING RED

Artemis is back and seeing red, no pun intended, the furiously stunning girl-fronted band is back with yet another single to bless us all.

I’ve talked about them before and fell in love with their sound and their message. So to hear from them once more now a year later, I am beyond thrilled. Just released (AUG 19) is yet “another angsty anthem about periods (lol).” Nevertheless, Artemis, again, brings to the table game-changing musicality and lyrics, perhaps taking my heart as one of my favorite bands.

Their previous release – from 2021 Kingdom – was an absolute hit and hearing what they have previously had to offer, no one expects anything less from Seeing Red

Seeing Red jolts alive with eerie angst displaying their effortless energy at full volume. It’s one of those songs; the ones you can only truly listen to with your volume all the way up until your fucking ears are bleeding but you’re still air-strumming along. Their power arises from symbiotic, shouty vocals and loud quick drums. It’s reminiscent, nostalgic; sort of giving the listeners a longing to go down a rabbit hole of something like Riot Girl (or better yet previously released Artemis songs.) Bearing a topic that is not usually talked about: periods, they take that in mind responding: FUCK YOU.

The single dips into new wave pop-punk, giant choruses, and a killer intro from guitarist Frankie and drummer Fenella. The flashy guitar section carries the entire release on their backs this way, with precise, clever backbones and a spectacular tone.

If you’ve yet to hear of Artemis, they are an all girl band formed in Southampton UK, in February 2019. Stiving, of course, to encourage young women everywhere. Their the type of band who’s going places quick. The rest of us just need to strap in and get ready for the ride.

Be sure to listen to the single on Spotify and check out the Artemis’ other links above!
