Angelically, Lauryn Hill opens this gut-wrencher with quite lonely vocals – a refreshing yet gloomy follow-up to “The Beast.” This back-and-forth presents as a theme throughout the album, exhibiting the musical range of not only Hill but the trio as a whole.
While searching for new bands to reach out to, I stumbled across The Shedonist, a band fronted by Persian-American singer/songwriter Jasmin. While listening to both their covers and their previously released singles, I instantly fell in love with their innovative sound.
The former guitarist for Megadeth will soon release the third part to his “Tokyo Jukebox.” The series started in 2009, with a sequel following in 2011. Marty Friedman has adopted the culture as inspiration for the on-going series.
“Suck It” was released last year by The Rumours, a badass, chick-fronted band. The album is a blatantly superior force. Not only is it well-executed, but the track sounds like a 70s rock anthem.
