Jack Daniel’s Classic Remix returns

Through creativity, up-and-coming designers are carving out their own niche in the arts, and Jack Daniel’s Classic Remix honors them. For its third year, Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey and Tennessee Apple enlisted Nigeria Ealey, Design Director of TIER, and jewelry designer Kristopher Kites to add their individual spins to a fashion capsule.

The design process of each artist will be documented in a series titled “Beyond the Moodboard,” revealing the sources of their inspiration and the cultural influences that shaped their works. The series will make its debut at HBX New York and feature behind-the-scenes pictures and photographs of each designer at work.

The Classic Remix line highlights the company’s dedication to art and culture while also funding fashion grants for the next generation of streetwear designers. Three award recipients will be chosen this year, and the brand will match all purchases of the Classic Remix capsule up to $100,000 USD in order to support the recipients.

Sheila Rashid, Ouigi Theodore, and Justin Mensinger, previous Classic Remix designers, will be back to evaluate this year’s offering. Jack Daniel’s will reveal the most recent recipients of its Classic Remix grants in the coming weeks.

Designers Kristopher Kites and Nigeria Ealey collaborated with Jack Daniel’s Classic Remix to develop the fashion capsule that was inspired by the brand’s Tennessee Honey and Tennessee Apple products.

Kristopher Kites, a Chicago-based artist, is well recognized for his handcrafted chains, frequently incorporating well-known pop culture references into his larger-than-life sculptures. The artist creates a whimsical interpretation of a Cuban link chain for Jack Daniel’s Classic Remix program, fashioning the hefty, iridescent form from links in green and honey.

His creations will coexist with those of Nigeria Ealey, the founder and creative director of the streetwear company TIER, who made unisex jogging sets and monochromatic jackets in the same style as the companies.

A forthcoming editorial series and in-store activity named “Beyond the Moodboard” that will launch on Hypebeast and in-store at HBX New York will document their creative processes.
