Behemoth’s Nergal “Offending Religious Feelings.”

Behemoth’s frontman Nergal is currently being convicted due to his acts that “offered religious feelings.”

Two incidents are being brought under the spotlight. One of which included Nergal standing on an image of the Virgin Mary. And another instance where he was ripping up a bible on stage, calling it a “book of lies.” Nergal was able to win the case against the Polish Government following the second situation listed above.

However, after standing on the Virgin Mary image, he’ll be finned PLN (Polish currency) 15,000 and ordered to pay the court an additional PLN 3,500.

Behemoth was also targeted after releasing a questionable T-shirt design that resembled the Polish national emblem.

In a Super Express report, specifications on Nergal’s newest charge were delivered by Aleksandra Skrzyniarz. The estimated English translation indicates, “Adam D. is accused of, on September 25, 2019, acting via the internet, publicly insulting the object of Christian religious worship in the form of the person of the Mother of God, by placing a photo on the Facebook social network, on its official profile. presenting a damaged picture showing the image of the Mother of God with a shoe-legged figure placed in the place of the indicated figure, which was described by ’On the set’, thus offending the religious feelings of four people.”

“Representatives of Ordo Iuris and the Patriotic Society were informed about Nergal‘s misdemeanor. The Warsaw prosecutor added that during the investigation the victims were interrogated and an expert in the field of religious studies was appointed. The opinion clearly concludes that treading with a shoe on the image of the Mother of God is an offense against religious feelings.”

“As you can see, it’s a prescriptive sentence. It probably initiates further proceedings. But, in the spirit of the judgments of the Strasbourg Tribunal and the Constitutional Tribunal, I can say that we have put in place penal norms to protect religious peace by rejecting anti-religious hatred,” the attorney writes.” This is an important change.”

When Nergal was asked about the judgment, he stayed silent.
