10 Adult Cartoons Way Better Than Family Guy

Fans of Family Guy will need something new to watch since the adult cartoon has wrapped up it’s 20th season, leaving a vacancy. Some people might want to switch completely to something different.

Even if once-dominant adult animation icons like Family Guy and The Simpsons have recently lost viewers and quality, newcomers like Rick and Morty and Big Mouth are vying for the after-dark TV reign. Few shows have the tenacity to last as long as Family Guy has, but given how stale Seth MacFarlane’s 2000s darling has grown, it’s time for viewers to find elsewhere for their daily fix of coarse humor.

It is becoming increasingly clear that there are a wider variety of storylines to tell that are perhaps judged of a greater quality than Family Guy with so many more adult animated series being added to the genre. For their stunning visuals, clever stories, and top-notch voice acting, these programs are definitely worth watching.

Disenchantment is a vast departure from the previous series that the brilliant adult animation magician Matt Groening has created. It takes place in the made-up nation of Dreamland and follows a group of fanciful people as they discover this enigmatic kingdom.

Major political undertones are at play here as a conspiracy is slowly revealed, along with fantasy-bending elements that make fun of the genre as a whole. It’s a wonderful idea that has had several inventive seasons that haven’t gotten boring like a traditional sitcom-style work like Family Guy has.

Solar Opposites, a sitcom created by Justin Roiland and Mike McMahan, shares many similarities with its sister program Rick and Morty but goes above and beyond to continue to develop intriguing and unique stories based on this odd family.

It’s intriguing to watch humans from this distinctly extraterrestrial perspective. The film is centered on a group of aliens who have escaped their dying planet and are now establishing a home on Earth. The setting of these unique heroes provides it an advantage over adult comedy like Family Guy despite the fact that it is highly sarcastic in its humor.

There are many sci-fi shows that have used the adult animation genre to fully develop their storylines. However, Final Space is a full-fledged space opera with an intricate web of intertwined beats that depicts a galaxy teeming with adventure and peril.

The Olan Rogers-created sitcom’s basic premise—a pair of unlikely partners attempting to save the universe—is actually what allows the show as a whole to flourish. Given that one of the two is the very thing capable of destroying entire worlds, there is tension there that somehow transforms into a brotherhood. In Family Guy, relationships like these aren’t developed with the same significance, and the show could never equal its stakes.

American Dad, another of Seth MacFarlane’s creations, is well known for its hilarious humor and wonderful cast of characters. It may be claimed that it is simply superior to Family Guy since it has more heart and stronger storylines.

This series is constantly growing creatively, which is essential for a long-running program. Characters from American Dad like Steve and Roger are just a fixture of adult comedies since they add so much to the program, whether it be their dialogue or crazy antics.

F is for Family, a Netflix original series, is shamefully underappreciated. Despite being a comedy, this program excels at portraying the genuine conflicts that dysfunctional families experience with one another.

The program, which is set in the 1970s, has an emotional, raw quality to it that is almost entirely lacking in Family Guy, a show that is equally irreverent and lowbrow. F Is For Family has remained a Netflix mainstay since its launch in 2015, outlasting several more recent adult series.

Big Mouth has grown to be one of the most well-liked adult cartoons in today’s culture because to its irreverent humor. It has undoubtedly attracted a lot of attention because its emphasis on gross-out humor is unlike anything viewers have ever seen.

However, what is frequently overlooked is the fact that it performs a remarkable job addressing actual problems that teenagers face during puberty. Fans of adult-oriented comedy series owe it to themselves to check out this one, despite the fact that it might be difficult to sell due to its distinctive style.

King of the Hill may appear a little bit dry at first because it centers on the Hill family’s mostly unremarkable existence. But after giving it a chance, viewers would grow to love it immensely. Mike Judge, the creator of the series, did an outstanding job with both the humor and the compelling plot.

Given that it emphasizes the value of character development, this show is as realistic as cartoons get. Bobby Hill, for instance, develops during the course of the show while simultaneously imparting wisdom to Hank. For those who have not yet seen it, this is simply a funny series.

It’s difficult not to root for BoJack Horseman’s title character, even though he can be rather annoying at times. This explains why the audience of this performance loves it so much. Despite having some funny parts, it really shifts to a darker tone as it goes on.

The amount of tragedy depicted in this series is enormous, yet ultimately, it enhances it. No questions remained unanswered when the series conclusion finally aired, which has allowed it to be regarded as elite.

The Boondocks was a significant component of Adult Swim’s programming in the mid-2000s, despite being occasionally avoided owing to its irreverent handling of third-rail issues. The program, a social commentary built around the idea of a Black family relocating to a neighborhood with a preponderance of White residents, aimed to advance dialogue about delicate subjects while also making fun of them.

Family Guy frequently makes fun of difficult circumstances, but not quite as elegantly or captivatingly as The Boondocks. While the latter aims to spark conversation, the former seldom ever progresses above crude humor.

Even though Bob’s Burgers may not be as well-liked as Family Guy, it is undeniably superior to that show in terms of inventiveness. The primary characters in this drama are superbly rendered as real individuals, which enables the audience to relate to them easily.

The show is heavily focused on family relationships and relatable familial issues, which is part of what makes it so great. In reality, the majority of the series focuses on the Belcher family as they deal with difficulties at the restaurant as well as their relationships with one another. Also amazing is their original music, which they consistently produce.
